The ISU Book Store offers custom, in-house publishing to help faculty and staff present original work, lab manuals, various readings, case studies, supplementary educational materials, out-of-print books, and more.  


How to order:


STEP 1:

Develop a hard copy or PDF of the course material you wish to reproduce.  Fill out the coursepacket order form.
Please be specific regarding any special printing instructions.

STEP 2:

If you have included copyrighted materials, provide a readings list or bibliography with your order. 
Provide this information to the ISU Book Store team as soon as possible in order to submit for copyright permissions for these items.
Copyright permissions must be requested every semester.

STEP 3:

Submit coursepacket order form, updated packet draft, and biblography form (if copyright permissions are needed) to the ISU Book Store:

Interested in developing a Digital Coursepacket?


The ISU Book Store also offers the same services listed above to create a Digital Coursepacket.  
If you are interested in going digital, just let us know! A digital coursepacket offered to students in the same manner as eBook that is accessible in Canvas. These customer digital packets are eligable to be included in Immediate Access ONE and Immediate Access programs.

We also work closely with the Unviersity Library's Course Reserves. Depending on the copyright permissions needed for your digital coursepacket, your packet may be more cost effecitve for students to be setup as a Course Reserve material. Copyright Information for Print and Digital Materials


Iowa State University Book Store respects copyright law on behalf of Iowa State University. The ISU Book Store must receive permission before we can reproduce any copyrighted material, even if used for educational purposes only.

ISU Bookstore Copyright Policy:
Anything copied directly from another source, including but not limited to online or printed newspapers, journal articles, textbooks, trade books, cartoons, figures/images, and business cases are clearly held under copyright law. These require written permission of the rights holder (may or may not be the author) to reproduce and sell. Fair Use exemptions do not apply to reproducing copyrighted material for resale, including non-profit resale.

Copyright permissions must be requested every semester.

You will want to be sure that you are compliant with copyright law for both print and digital materials for your course.
