Note: Student software that is purchased at Tech Cyte is eligible to be purchased with your U-Bill. When you purchase through one of the download sites below, you must purchase with a credit card.

Office 365 ProPlus for Students

Office 365 ProPlus for Students is a FREE add-on for Office 365 that the university has access to as part of the Student Advantage program. Students can log in to Office 365, see their ProPlus license, and download the latest version of Office for free. Office 365 will work on Windows, Mac, and mobile devices. Requires an active ISU email address.

While free to all registered Iowa State students, the benefits of the ProPlus program will be severed when an individual leaves the university. The software will continue to function in a read only mode until the user opts to purchase a license or personal subscription. Should a new version of Office come out when the user is still a student, upgrading to that version will be free.

Please note: If you are in Computer Science 103 and you are a Mac user, you do not need to install Windows and the Windows version of Office on your computer.

Azure Dev Tools for Teaching

Azure Dev Tools for Teaching (formerly Microsoft Imagine) is a Microsoft Program that supports technical education by providing access to Microsoft software for learning and teaching purposes including the most current Microsoft operating systems, server products (e.g, SQL Server), development software (e.g., Visual Studio, SDKs, DDKs), applications (e.g., Project, Access), and training tools (e.g., Azure).  

License Information: Azure Dev Tools for Teaching is available to use at no charge for educational purposes, and cannot be used for infrastructure or commercial development. For license questions contact itslicense@iastate.edu.

To download Azure Dev Tools for Teaching products: Go to Azure Dev Tools for Teaching and sign in using your ISU Net-ID and password.

CyBox is a place where you can store and share files for your own use, and share with others at ISU, or with collaborators anywhere in the world.
