Accessing Previously Purchased eBooks:

  • Click here to login to our Course Materials Website.
  • Go to Activate And Access Digital Media. This page is for accessing RedShelf or VitalSource eBooks, or redeeming newly purchased Campus eBookstore redemption codes.
  • Previous purchases for Access Codes (such as MyMathLab, Top Hat, Visible Body, Flat World, Capsim, etc.) will not be listed here, but you should be able to find in your email shortly after you placed the order.

Troubleshooting your eBooks, Access Codes, Immediate Access:

  • Chrome is the suggested web browser for course materials.
  • Pop-up blockers need to be turned off or set to “allowed” for the site.

Access Codes (MyLab, Connect, WileyPlus, etc.)

  • Access codes can be purchased directly from your book list for immediate download.
  • Once you complete your order, check your email for the instructions to access the product.
  • The email will include a key code (not the actual access code!). The key code opens the unique code for your product and additional download instructions.
  • Access codes are tied to the email address used to place the online order. The @iastate.edu email address is encouraged.

Top Hat Classroom Subscription

  • Top Hat Classroom is a software subscription used for various classroom engagement and interactive tools. If it is required for a course, it will be listed in the book list as a requirement.
  • Top Hat Classroom subscription or Top Hat eBooks can be purchased directly from your book list for immediate download.
  • Once you complete your order, check your email for the instructions to access the product.
  • The email will include a key code (not the actual access code!). The key code opens the unique code for your product and additional download instructions.
  • Your instructor will provide a 6 digit join code that will be required for registration of the software.
  • Top Hat subscription purchase is tied to the email address used to place the online order. The student’s @iastate.edu email address is required for proper registration of the product.
  • If there is a Top Hat eBook required for your course, you are required to also purchase the Top Hat Classroom subscription. Both will be listed in your book list as requirements.
  • Students only need to purchase one license to be used for multiple classes.

eBooks (RedShelf, Vitalsource)

  • eBooks can be purchased directly from your book list for immediate download.
  • eBooks are “codeless” which means you just need to log into your ISU Book Store account and click on “Activate and Access Digital Media” to see your eBook Shelf as soon as you complete your online order.
  • Books are tied to the email address used to place the online order. The @iastate.edu email address is encouraged.

Immediate Access

  • This course material is ready and waiting for you in Canvas on the first day of class. Just click “RedShelf Course Materials” to get started or view your syllabus for instructions.
  • Students automatically receive the reduced course materials cost compared to current print and digital options, charged directly to your U-Bill. View your book list in AccessPlus for details or your U-Bill statement.
  • Opt-out for a refund is available for a limited time. Navigate to “RedShelf Course Materials” then click “I want to opt out of access to all required materials for this course.” This option is available for the first 10 days of class for full-semester courses or the first 5 days of class for partial semester courses. Refunds are processed with the University after the 10th day of class.
  • Students will be automatically refunded if they drop the course within the first 10 days of class for full-semester courses or the first 5 days of class for partial semester courses.
  • Students that opt-out or drop the course will have their access to the digital course material revoked immediately. Students are encouraged to attend the first day of class to receive instructions and guidance from your instructor before making the decision to opt-out of required material.
